Why we built a receptionist for funeral homes

We built Funeral Answering Desk to answer calls when your staff are occupied or your home is closed. A family reporting a death needs careful intake and contact with the on-call director. Someone asking about a service time or pre-need arrangements needs an answer based on your home's information. Those calls require different responses, and your instructions define the extra questions, contact order and backups.

Your home supplies the knowledge and direction

Your receptionist learns from your website and an onboarding chat covering services, hours, service area, price policy, and urgent contacts. You decide which calls forward to it: all calls, unanswered calls, busy calls, or calls outside your hours. A forwarding guide and test call help you check the setup before it goes live.

Any death report, including a removal request from a family, hospice, hospital or care facility, starts with caller name, callback number and where the person is, then on-call director contact at once: warm transfer if routing allows, a page otherwise or if unanswered. Only then does the receptionist finish intake. Price answers come only from the price list you provide. Other inquiries can become complete messages, appointment bookings, or details for your callback. You can change settings by telling the AI what you need in plain words.

Callers hear what the service is

The greeting identifies the receptionist as a virtual assistant and says the call is recorded. We keep that disclosure on for each call. Email and app push notifications bring you the summary, urgency tag, transcript, and recording so you can review what happened and decide what follows.

Hear it before you forward your calls

The fictional funeral home demo lets you try a call without signing up. Use a first-call scenario, ask about prices, or leave a director a message. When you are ready, request a free trial; we email your sign-in link when the trial is ready, with an onboarding chat to follow. A card is required before call forwarding goes live, and the subscription is month to month.
